Menopause

Menopause is a natural cycle of a woman's life.

It is caused by the loss or our sex hormones estrogen and progesterone due to a reduction in ovarian follicles. This in turn causes our periods to cease. The most common age for menopause to start is between 45 to 50 years of age. The symptoms of menopause can start up to 10 years before the actual menopause, and this is known as the Perimenopause. This transitional phase to menopause can affect women in as young as their mid 30s. Some notable changes can start to occur in this phase such as weight gain, hot flushes, irregular menstrual periods, mood & sleep patterns, ageing  and feeling not able to cope easily with everyday stresses. During the peri & menopause phase some 15% of women may not experience troublesome signs or symptoms but most do. The loss of these hormones can create hormonal imbalances that can have some undesirable effects which can play havoc in our lives. Fortunately these hormones can be rebalanced.

To help restore a woman's wellbeing the most common treatment alongside other supportive care to menopause is to replace and rebalance hormones that have  been lost.

The treatment is extremely effective but requires investigation into what hormones have been lost and what level of therapy is needed to rebalance them.

The hormones that have been lost can be rebalanced by methods of tablet, skin patch, or gel. By effectively rebalancing these hormones and helping restoring normal biological function a person can see major improvements their sense of wellbeing.
